The new sci-fi film "Chappie" is headed to top the ox office this slow weekend. It is estimated to make between $14 million and $20 million. Behind it would follow "Unfinished Business" and "The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel." The futuristic film is directed by "District 9" director Neil Blomkamp and features a robot named Chappie who could think and feel for himself. This caught my eye because I've heard of "Chappie" and I might go see it myself. Meanwhile, last week's box office lead, "Focus" with Will Smith, is predicted to fall 10%. Next week, "Cinderella is expected to dominate the sales. As a student, it's good to learn how the release dates of films can affect their sales. A question I do have is how much will the film's sales drop by next week?
